Information about Leuven

Leuven is a charming city of medieval origin located 25 km east of Brussels. It has more than 90,000 habitants. If we add to this the 35,000 post-secondary and 11,000 high-school students, it should come as no surprise that the streets are filled with young faces and that the city lives at students' rhythm. Leuven, with its university older than 575 years, is an ideal environment for a workshop dedicated to strengthen the contacts between young and senior researchers, and to make state-of-the-art progressing. The conference will be held at IMEC, located next to the K.U.Leuven campus in Heverlee. Leuven, also known for its brewery, offers many opportunities for recreative and creative “post-sessions” or, alternatively, for shopping or sight-seeing in the old city center.

The workshop welcomes both researchers from universities and research institutions, and scientists and engineers working in industry. Traditionally, with participants from almost 20 countries, WOCSDICE is a forum for regular European meetings bringing together the leading experts from all over the world. The invited talks will be given by world’s leading scientists.
